I’ve been photographing actor headshots professionally for almost 15 years. As a former actor myself, I love and understand actors. My favorite part of my job is learning who you are, where you want to go, and how I can help you get there with your headshot. Because I really take the time to get to know you, there is an authenticity that comes through in my work.
My love of photography all began when I discovered the photographs of Diane Arbus as a child. While my mother practiced the organ at a church on Fifth Avenue, I would sneak over to the Museum of Modern Art bookstore, find a corner and pour over their photography books. I’ve always been drawn to intimate pictures that connect us with other people. That connection is what I always strive to communicate in my portraits of actors, writers, life coaches, and all professional types.
I studied journalism in graduate school out in Los Angeles and ended up living there for a number of years. I’m one of those rare New Yorkers who loves L.A. but I’ve always felt most at home here in New York City, where I grew up. Currently, I live in Brooklyn with my black lab Colby who often greets you at the door when we shoot near my apartment! When I’m not taking pictures, I practice yoga and take long walks in the park with Colby. Some of my favorite things? Old movies (and by old I mean Katherine Hepburn and Cary Grant!), plays, and reading.
