A Wedding in Chinatown / by Lisa Hancock

As a former anthropology student, nothing thrills me more than traditions and rituals that are foreign to me.  This wedding in Chinatown fit the bill.  Tea ceremony, offerings to ancestors in a homemade shrine, red wedding dress = candy shop!  It's especially fun when one of them -- the bride or groom -- doesn't share the same background and has to learn everything.  Our handsome American groom in this case had to stumble through a virtual obstacle course of new traditions before collecting his bride, who was in hiding in her bedroom -- another Chinese tradition.  Adorbs!  They followed with a western-style ceremony at the spectacular Giando on the Water in Brooklyn.
