Going through the wedding archive today, I couldn't resist posting one of my all time favorites. As you know, I love an ethnic wedding! This one served up a little India in a Hudson Valley mansion. Jordan and Rohita were radiant and warm -- and, because they got ready at the mansion, we had lots of extra time to wander around the house and grounds for some quiet portraits. There are so many photogenic spots at this venue and it was a treasure trove of lighting opportunities. I always prefer to use natural light, especially for portraits, so it was a thrill to find tons of soft light pouring in through the windows inside the house to capture the texture of Rohita’s amazing jewelry. I was even able to photograph the table settings and other details using just natural light from all the nearby windows. It was a dream. I’ve since shot other weddings at the CV Rich Mansion and always looks forward to it because I know there will be a ton of great light to work with.
